Lake Biwa
JNTO identifies windsurfing at Omi-Maiko and BSC Watersports Centre near Otsu. Biwako Marine Sports Club separately teaches wingfoil from its Omi-Shirahama west-shore base. These are distinct shores of a large lake, not a single lake-centre launch.

How map references work
A point can mark a useful access, business, or approximate area reference. It does not establish a legal riding-zone boundary, guaranteed launch, safe depth, or current access permission.
Lake Biwa · reviewed water-body identity
The point identifies the lake, not a launch, shore access, navigation lane, depth, or lake-wide suitability claim.
Access & safety
- Do not infer lake-wide conditions
- The destination identity does not establish the same wind, water, traffic, access, or rescue context around the whole lake. Sources: Japan National Tourism Organization · Lake Biwa.
Not a live safety service. Recheck local notices, closures, access, weather, and water conditions before every session.

BSC Watersports Centre
The centre is at Minamifunaji 4-1 on Lake Biwa’s west shore near Horai Station, not at the lake-centre marker.
Biwako Marine Sports Club
A separate operator offering wingfoil lessons at its Omi-Shirahama west-shore base.
Plan the trip
- Select a real shore base before travelling
- Lake Biwa is not one access point. BSC is near Horai, Biwako Marine Sports Club teaches wingfoil at Omi-Shirahama, and JNTO names Omi-Maiko for windsurfing. Choose the actual shore and school before travelling.
